Ministry of the Word

FSBC-6

God’s Word is:

“…living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:15)
“…breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Therefore, what we as a church must do is devote ourselves to His words. They are our food, our light, our guide, our source of strength, our means for knowing our great God. All that we do as a church and as individuals is to center around the Word, and we are committed to preaching and teaching it.

Our Sundays (September – May) begin with Sunday School, where every age group studies God’s Word. Currently,

  • Kindergarten – 3rd Grades are studying the ABC’s of God as they learn about His attributes.
  • 4th – 6th Grades are studying the sovereign providence of God as it is revealed in the Old and New Testaments.
  • Middle & High Schoolers are studying Exodus.
  • The adults are studying Daniel.

Our Sunday morning worship service, our corporate gathering as a body, opens with a call to worship from Scripture, the public reading of Scripture, and the clear proclamation of God’s truth in exegetical preaching. Though we invite families to worship together, we also provide Children’s Church during the message, where the children hear stories from the Bible and how great God is.

All of our Bible studies during each week (see “Weekly Ministries” for details), men’s and women’s, center around God’s truth.
